Bathroom Remodeling Project

Entrance door to master
bedroom. Property protection
measures to minimize and
control dust dissemination.
Zip in the entrance door
allows passage through and
prohibits dust from
spreading to adjacent
hallway.

Moving content of master bedroom
including bed and wardrobe to
one side and sealing the content
with plastics and tape.

Original bath with pink tile
dating back to early 1950 ties
with wallpaper on walls and
ceiling showing its age

Linen closet situated to the
right side was cumbersome to
access due to proximity of
vanity not visible in the
picture. New bath design
will have the existing closet
move to the opposite side on the
long wall.
.
The
standard size vanity next to closet
on the left and open space on the
right, hard to clean and allowing
water to drip down off the
countertop edge. The new vanity will
be fitted in between two walls with
no space left between vanity top
and the walls.
Stripped
down walls show original water
proofing treatment.
Drain
pipes are galvanized and will be
replaced.

New
shower layout and new location
of shower faucet. Bottom of
shower walls at perimeter is
filled with support boards
between the horizontal wood
members to facilitate
installation of waterproof
shower membrane.
Using
proprietary materials like the
pro slopes insures that the new
waterproof membrane will not
allow mold to form due to
stagnant water thanks to the
slope running water to the
drain.

Walls with waterproof
sheeting are up. Cement
backer boards are being
installed. The
sequence may be reversed
with cement backer board
installed first and
laminated with waterproof
sheeting attached to backer
boards.

New vanity being
fitted is wider. The
Corian top will go next.
The top of knee wall and
the shower threshold top
will receive solid
surface Corian so will
entrance door threshold.
New
wall tile almost done.
New
niche will also have
bottom ledge finished
with solid surface
Corian top.

Finally you can see
the shower wall
being grouted.
